Great milage here discussing descriptive writing. I showed the 1st part up to where the hand comes through the window. Made the children write in first person, as the narrator and explained that the reader finds out when they do, the narrator.
First had to describe what was happening. A few children kept reverting back to past tense so getting the present tense was a real focus.
The orientation has been done. Some amazing sentences coming through. Boys itching to share their writing as well. I have seen a real improvement on vocabulary and adding detail!
